Before leaving the hostel in the morning, we ended up talking with a gentleman from Washington DC who retired from the EPA and decided to try his hand at bike touring. Ireland was his first adventure. He was inspired to try after meeting a touring cyclist in Montana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When we arrived at the caravan park in Westport the rain turned from drizzle to downpour. We weren’t excited about pitching our tent in a downpour. Carrie found a large game room where we were able roll our bikes and take shelter. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once we settled in we got to talking with an older woman named Sue from Wales. Over a course of maybe three hours we talked about cycling and current affairs. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Although relationships are fleeting when you travel, it was nice today to spend more time than usual bonding with other cyclists.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
