Lazy day around Loch Leven

Europe

After our epic voyage yesterday Carrie and I were in no hurry to get up in the morning. We ate a couple of bowls of cereal in the tent and then took a nap. I’ve never napped so early in the day.

Once we got our assess in motion we took our sweet time getting to the village of Glen Coe and it’s lovely caravan park overlooking Loch Leven. This whole area is surrounded by glacier carved mountains. Around every bend we’d come across a new vista just as stunning as the last. It’s no wonder this area is considered the outdoor hub of the UK.

As we settled in at the campsite, brief showers kept rolling through, followed by periods of glorious sunshine. We took shelter in our tent to cook dinner but kept the vestibule doors open to bask in the warm sun when possible. Then out of nowhere we hear the merry song of an ice cream truck in the distance. At home the trucks blast Beethoven. Here it was the very appropriate “raindrops keep falling on my head”. Ain’t it the truth ice cream truck. This is now our official touring song for Scotland.
