Sunburnt in Ireland

Europe

If there is a heaven on earth then it’s a sunny day in southeast Ireland with a bicycle between your legs.

A foggy morning turned into a brilliant afternoon. With the wind at our backs, we cycled on some wonderful coastal roads. The roads bobbed up and down gently over the terrain, providing some gradual climbs and relaxing descents.

Can't beat the view coming down the south east coast of Ireland.

Because we were enjoying ourselves so much we decided to ride further than normal to reach what appeared to be a nice holiday park on the water. However event we arrived it appeared that the park was closed. People were tucked into their fixed mobile homes but the toilet block was locked and the reception room was dark and nearly empty.

We managed to get a hold of the owner, who agreed to let us pitch out tent for the night. He said they stopped serving campers ten years ago, but people like us using free mapping tools still see the camping symbol at their location.
